Event Details

Brought to you by the MVLA School Speaker Series in partnership with Parents Place of the Peninsula and the Mountain View Parent Nursery School:

Ellen Galinsky is the past president of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She is also a former professor at the Bank Street College of Education, as well as the author of Ask the Children and The Six Stages of Parenthood, along with more than 125 articles in academic journals, books, and magazines. In Mind in the Making, she identifies seven life skills essential to success—in school, the workforce, and life: focus and self-control, perspective taking, communicating, making connections, critical thinking, taking on challenges, and self-directed engaged learning. Of Mind, Lisa Belkin of the New York Times wrote: “It may well be the next iconic parenting manual, up there with Spock and Leach and Brazelton.”

*Target audience: Parents 0 - 8 years, may be of interest to any parent

The MVLA School Speaker Series is presented by the Mountain View – Los Altos High School Foundation and the Los Altos – Mountain View PTA Council. All events are free of charge and are for parents, faculty and staff in Los Altos and Mountain View public schools.
